Things to do on a storm day

A warm treat for the girls. Mildly cooked oatmeal with bird seed and dried cranberries. Looks good enough to eat, and they love it.

Then we needed to find something to do with the 4 month old apples in the cold room( 3 down and 45 to go). I think I can eat that many apple chips, they are really tasty.

I have no idea what I was thinking putting them in a candy dish as they didn’t last through their photo shoot, the jar was full in the first shot.

It’s just mandolin sliced apples tossed in a little sugar and cinnamon. Place them on a parchment lined pan, bake at 250 for 90 minutes and flip half way through. It’s a passive thing to cook while you are doing other things.

Then the big deal for the day, indoor planting. As usual we were a little over zealous but we’ll see what grows. We are always so eager to have spring and see things sprout. This should tide us over until we can get things into the greenhouse.

Happiness is green 🙂

I have started my first sour dough starter as well, should be ready in 5 days. Hopefully it makes good bread. That’s next.

Hope you had a great storm day too.
