Buttermilk Marinated Chicken, oh my.

Well, the continuation of yesterday’s cooking is to cook off the marinated chicken nuggets(6 breasts) and wings(15 complete wings or 30 pieces).

First, retrieve the overnight gloriously soaked chicken. Our personal blend of home grown spices with buttermilk, let is soak overnight imparting the moist goodness that is mouth watering.

Dredge in spiced flour and deep fry in our own rendered beef fat(tallow). We grow it(chickens), make it(tallow) and love it(anything made with either). When they are done they freeze wonderfully, just pop in the oven for 15 minutes to reheat and crisp, may also be used cold in wraps.

10 minutes in the pan and 165 internal temperature gives us a little piece of joy. A digital thermometer is extremely useful here. This is what you do when you want to know what is in your”junk food”, make it yourself. Plus we live in the country so when you get a craving you need to have it packed away and waiting for you.

This ends chicken cooking day(2). What to do tomorrow? I think spice mixes are creeping up…need to be done, yes this is likely.
