Loving storm days

I really should post here first then share on fb but I get excited…

It’s a storm day so we start with trying to get to the girls for their warm breakfast, we need snow shoes, it’s on the “list”:

everything is half gone

It's a long way to dig/crawl/push toward the house again.

After that episode it is time to do a little clearing out front. No hurry as the road is not plowed and likely won’t be until tomorrow but why not? Get outside and blow the stink off!

Front door behind the cedar...it's deep.

Having childish fun clearing the snow, remove the bottom first.

While all of this is going on there is the obligatory storm day cooking that I feel compelled to do:

Fresh bread and chicken soup.

A good day for bread making, lots of heat in the rads. Made chicken soup for now and some (12 pints) pressure cooked for the cold room, to be work lunches.

Trinidad stewed chicken in the making. I haven't made this in years and I miss it. Comfort food.

Now to get out and blow the driveway to nowhere. The plows will come, eventually, I’m sure of it šŸ˜‰
