My girl Mabel will follow me anywhere. This is her following me to the end of the run to check out the roost damage, slight rebuild needed. Edna and Daisy-Mae are not convinced snow is something to walk on and are squawking loudly from the ground. She is my brave girl and I love her.
Next it’s time to have a dust bath in the wood ash we filter for them. Yes, that is an old baby bath tub. Their combs may be black but they are “clean” and happy. To see them go at it is absolutely crazy, the cloud of dust is spectacular and required the doors to be opened. Can’t wait for outdoor dust bathing to begin.
Now to the bees, finishing the new beehives this weekend. Frames are together and 3 boxes built, just some fine tuning(nailing, sanding), covers, starter strips ripped, then staining and we will be ready to split. It’s in the air.
