Tis’ the season for outdoor work and deep thirst. Enter Lavender Lemonade. I finally got around to dealing with the dried lavender from fall…I forgot about it hanging in a back closet in a pillow case to keep it clean, oops.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 8 cups water
- 1 TBSP dried lavender flowers
Heat the water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, add lemon juice and lavender. Let cool to room temperature. This is where it turns pink.
Strain into a pitcher and cool. Serve over ice with a lemon slice or lavender flowers floating. The taste is more of a scent, it is like smelling lavender with your tongue?
Now to research more things to do with lavender. I love the idea of cooking with it as opposed to sachets and additives in soap.
