Time constraints being what they are, at least it’s a start on the rose garden. Three of four bushes moved, two new ones added, the climbing roses are potted until the shingling happens and the path is roped off.
Being the end of May and 4 days without a frost warning it is time to focus all of our attentions on getting the ground ready and planting our food for the year, plus the meat chicks arrive on Tuesday. Thus the “pretty” plans go on hold.
If you could see it in my mind’s eye though, you would see that pile of old chimney brick is a beautiful path through blooming rose bushes , three feet round and lush, edged with creeping lemon thyme and oregano, mulched, clean and smelling fabulous. At the doors of the red shingled greenhouse, with white trim, there are climbing red roses trained around the windows and trailing above the door…
My rose colored glasses fit perfectly.
